Greetings,
I’m an urban gardener in 9a/b Texas. A culinarian and food service leader by trade and a gardener by love. I plan, setup and maintain private gardens and volunteer at public ones. My goal is to vastly increase self sustainability and reduce food deserts in Houston and the surrounding areas. I look forward to learning and sharing at an equally proportionate rate.

Hi GSF713, you're in the same growing zone as me over here in Arizona (but I'm sure your get a fair deal more rain). Love your goals! You can grow through the winter, right? Are you planting anything now for the cool season? We're about to start leafy greens, brassicas, and root crops in a couple weeks here once it cools down 🌱

We get our rains all at once it seems. Actually about to get an inch tomorrow in theory... Let's see if I can fill up 800 gallons of rain barrels with one storm. Love that you are starting your winter crops. I've started potatoes broccoli brussel sprouts cabbages and a bunch of greens. Bring on the rain
