Looking for info regarding soils. Most trees I can grow here are fairly easy. It’s the veggies I have trouble with. Also starting from scratch.

What kinda soil do you have in Gainesville, is it sandy? Not sure if you've seen Jim Kovaleski on YouTube but he grows in Florida during the winters and was a big inspiration to me as I was getting into veggies. He was getting free compost from his town and was able to turn some sandy soil into something that produces a TON of veggies 🥦🍅🥬🫜

Starting from scratch is so much fun, so many possibilities but also the uncertainty that comes with it. Curious to hear more about your situation and challenges!
